Macroalgal seed stock:

Immobilized of microalgae:

Already entrapped Scenedesmus quadricauda into alginate-beads and stored those beads in 4oC at the darkness without any medium addition for more than 3 years. The beads containing Scenedesmus quadricauda remain alive when re-suspended in the medium.

(Above figure shown that the Scenedesmus quadricauda was immobilized in alginate-beads, subsequently packaged in a nylon net bag)

Left figure shown that the bags were hanged in the fish cultures for controlling the water quality.

Applied immobilized Isochrysis galbana for clam (Meretrix lusoria) culture.
